A MAJOR treat is in store for Dar es Salaam Hip-Hop fans this weekend with the presence of renowned American rapper Busta Rhymes.
The hitmaker is expected in the country on Friday for Fiesta 2009 set for Saturday at the Postal College grounds, Kijitonyama in the city.
Fiesta 2009 organising committee chairman Ruge Mutahaba confirmed yesterday that Rhymes would perform live at the event.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Mutahaba said they invited the American artist so as to spice up the event.
He voiced optimism that Rhymes' presence would provide Tanzanian young artists with an ideal opportunity to learn something from him.
“I am optimistic young artists will learn something from him (Rhymes) because he came across various challenges on his way up,” Mutahaba said.
“It'll be a unique opportunity for our artists to learn on how best to, among other things, master the stage,” he added.
Mutahaba said Rhymes will come together with his group, which comprises nine musicians who are all world class Hip-Hop artists.
The American will share the stage with a host of local artists, according to Mutahaba. He fell short of naming them
He said they would also conduct a raffle at the fiesta whose winner will walk away with 12m/-.
